STORAGE SYSTEM DESIGN
On our INFO/CONTACT US page, you can ask questions or send us information about your project - anything from a single cabinet to a full-blown system (we also do on-site field measures). In return, you'll receive:
- Equipment specifications tailored to your requirements
- Detailed drawings/layouts (for larger projects) on velum or CAD
- Bottom-line pricing
- On larger projects, we will analyze your existing materials/media, involving your staff and architectural and design team so we can best incorporate your retention, future expansion and work flow needs.
INSTALLATION & RELOCATION
We have full access to a national web of installation, relocation and service specialists, with our own highly trained crews anchored in Los Angeles and New York City. All have decades of experience in the specialized leveling and anchoring procedures which produce drift-free, trouble-free installations.
Also, if you're moving a system that doesn't exactly fit the new space, we can reconfigure it for its new home. Contents? Fully qualified and insured crews can handle that as well.
- Installation of everything we sell - and lots that we don't!
- Installation of any and all office partitions, work stations and cabinetry
- Disassembly, moving and rebuilding of all types, sizes and makes of high-density systems, power files, shelving and cabinetry.
- Systems redesigned and modified to fit new locations
- Moving of contents by licensed and/or bonded personnel, directed by your staff.
SERVICE & PARTS
This same skill and versatility extends to our service unit which can handle maintenance, repairs and parts for a wide range of types and makes of storage equipment.
Also, if the size of what you store has changed, we can supply shelving parts to reconfigure your system for new media or materials.
- Reconfigure existing shelving for new media or materials
- Service of everything we sell - and lots that we don't!
- Parts available for a wide range of storage products and makes, some out of manufacture
COORDINATION OF STRUCTURAL AND SEISMIC ENGINEERING
When high-density systems are built on upper floors, it's often a good idea - and even required - to make sure that all of the extra material you'll be storing won't overstress the floor. Since 1988, we have successfully navigated these often complex building codes for our clients.
- We work with state-certified structural engineers in your area, supplying all of the technical information needed to get your system approved.
- Seismically active areas have specialized structural codes and, as above, we supply all technical data to engineering and municipal concerns for a smooth approval process.
- Should a building permit be required, we submit all required documentation to - and work with - the local municipalities.
INFORMATION & RECORDS MANAGEMENT
The Concept
Contrary to popular impression, and despite the explosive growth of computer systems, the vast bulk of information -- in organizations large and small, public and private -- is still recorded on paper.
Mangement is usually unaware of a paper-based system's enormous costs; there is typically no corresponding accounting line item, nor any procedure for identifying and controlling these runaway numbers.
To improve the bottom line, we focus on the office and its functions as a system; its people, information, procedures, functions, and facilities. By analyzing what is done in the office, why, who does it, and how it is organized, we are able to provide new insights into the design of new, improved systems.
Our Process
For over 30 years, our IRM branch has offered a variety of consulting services, helping many clients make the transition to the high-tech office by first organizing their paper documents in logical and uniform classification systems -- the essential precursor to the design of an efficient, friendly and useful document management system for the storage and retrieval of electronic and scanned documents.
In relocation projects, we have worked closely with architects and interior designers to define staff-adjacency and workstation requirements, as well as capacity needs, layout and storage equipment specifications for file areas and libraries. Our craft in project planning and management has allowed our many clients to accomplish smooth and efficient relocations with minimum disruption to office operations.
Benefits of a study
- Any person who needs information can find it easily.
- Access to needed information is not dependent on any one individual.
- Sensitive or confidential information is protected from inadvertent disclosure.
- Records no longer needed are discarded so that they do not accumulate unnecessarily.
- Statutory, operational and archival requirements for records retention are met.
- There is optimum use of personnel, space and equipment such that 25% to 40% of such costs can be reduced. Frequently, the cost of our services is recovered in the first year, with annual savings thereafter.
